It never hurts to contact an equine facility to see if they are looking for help. Some, like us, are willing to allow workers to barter for all or part of lessons and/or boarding, So, if you're always dreamt about learning to ride, but you've felt the cost was prohibitive, bartering may be what can make that dream come true.
Unfortunately the rise in prices for just about anything and everything recently may have you in a position where maintaining your horse is becoming a struggle. Maybe putting a couple of evenings a week into helping with the day-to-day care of horses that are boarded and/or used for lessons may be just what will help reduce some of the stress you are dealing with.
When you get the chance some time at the end of a day, sit down in a barn on a bale of hay and listen to the horses munching away. It will wash whatever stress you may be feeling right away.
